Guaranteed trains during strikes

Even during a strike, operators must run the minimum essential services required under Italian Law 146/1990 and national agreements between rail operators and trade unions. The rules are overseen by the Commissione di Garanzia.

6:00-9:00 e 18:00-21:00

Minimum services that continue to run

  • Long-distance trains included in each operator's minimum essential services list
  • International trains while operating in Italy
  • Trains that departed before the strike began and continue to their final destination
If you already have a ticket: check your train on the operator's official website. Guaranteed train lists are normally published five days before a strike. If your train is cancelled, you can request a full refund or rebooking on another service.
